about
Neurodiversity Wellness Collective
how we began
Our Story
Neurodiversity Wellness Collective is a counselling and psychotherapy practice founded by Yuka Oshimi, a Japanese AuDHD counsellor whose work is shaped by lived experience across cultures, identities, and neurodivergent ways of being. As a neurodivergent individual herself, with lived experience growing up in Singapore and navigating cultural transitions, Yuka brings a grounded understanding, both personal and professional, of how neurodivergence, culture, and identity shape mental health.
This ethos continues to guide the collective’s work by recognizing the role of relationships, culture, and broader social systems in wellbeing, valuing curiosity and collaboration, and offering care that honours each individual’s full experience while meeting them where they are.
Guiding Principles
Our Values
You won't truly know who you are until you understand what matters to you. This is what matters to us, and it's what shapes every session, every interaction, and every decision we make as a practice.
01
Holistic Well-being
We value holistic wellbeing and the connection between mind and body.
02
Confidentiality & Ethics
We prioritize your privacy and wellbeing through strict confidentiality and high ethical standards.
03
Evidence-Based
Our work is informed by evidence based approaches and sustained through ongoing education.
04
Advocacy
Your voice matters. We are committed to advocating for you both within and beyond the counselling space.
05
Creating a Safe Haven
We are committed to creating a space where you feel safe and seen as you are. Therapy is a collaborative partnership grounded in neurodivergent-affirming care, guided by your voice, lived experience, and autonomy.
06
Disrupting Neuronormativity
We challenge neuronormative expectations and deficit-based narratives. Our work helps you recognize and address internalized stigma and ableism, while building the tools and confidence to advocate for your needs and boundaries.
